My name is Ian Wilkinson and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am retired. I worked in the construction trade as a painting contractor for many years. I also pastored a church. Before I pastored, I was a junior high school teacher for a while. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Education degree. I am familiar with both classroom instruction and teaching through apprenticing. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Prophetic Studies and a Doctor of Theology degree. I value education. Both Moses and Paul were educated. However, I put more value on knowing God personally.
I am married to Melodie. We have three children and nine grandchildren.
My main gift is teaching. I think you will discover that for yourself as you do these 24 lessons. There are five types of coaches or mentors in the Body of Christ. The are called the fivefold ministry. They are the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, the pastor and the teacher. Apostles and prophets are called to equip the saints (Christians) by training them to hear from God, to love God and to love one another. They lay the foundations. Sometimes apostles are called missionaries. They can, in some cases, help you discover what your particular gifts and talents are. Prophets can sometimes be seers – those that see visions. They help us grow faith. Evangelists equip the saints by first telling them the good news of the gospel and by training them how to spread the good news to others. Evangelists can also function as missionaries. Pastors are to nurture young believers and help them to mature spiritually. They are valuable at building community. Teachers come in many shapes and sizes from teachers of children (Sunday School), Bible study group leaders, elders who teach in a church, teachers in Christian schools, Bible Schools and Colleges. Some are travelling teachers that do seminars and some are writers. All coaches and mentors are to equip the rest of the members of Christ’s church to serve effectively, in ways that build the church. Some of these coaches work in the church and some are called to work in society in education, government, business and health care. They are sometimes called workplace prophets and apostles and their area is more secular than sacred but God considers both ministries (sacred & secular) to be valuable and worthy of his anointing.
I’m a teacher/ prophet. My speciality is teaching foundations. I believe I am gifted by God to teach foundations and I have also taken some teacher training at the University level. I hope I will be able to give you teaching that is both accurate and interesting. I developed this website (with help of course) in response to my belief that 1) we are in the greatest world-wide revival of all time where there will be the birth of a billion or so new believers, and 2) those billion or so new believers will need to be mentored by spiritual fathers to help them excel in wisdom and influence, and to assist them to obtain their destiny.
In the first 24 lessons I will touch on important topics but I cannot fully develop each topic in these short lessons. You will benefit greatly however, from just the introduction to these important subjects. All these first 24 lessons are yours free of charge they are however copy righted so you cannot reproduce them and charge others for them. You can show your
gratitude for these lessons (if they indeed help you) by doing the following:
1) You can testify on line – sending us your thanks.
2) You can bring others to this website.
3) You can pray that God will use this website to His glory.
4) You can donate to help cost the cost of building and maintaining this site. Your donations are not required but they are appreciated.
Some lessons will explain key words and concepts and I suggest you review them often. There are some memory verses to learn as well. Each lesson will have a video component and free downloadable notes in Acrobat format. Watch the lesson and then read the notes. Underline what seems important. For those who can afford it, workbooks will be available at Amazon.
After the first level is completed you will be invited to advance to the second level which will have teaching on the same topics but in much more depth. There will be quizzes and some accountability. You will have to register for these courses. And there may be opportunities to join group discussions on line. There will be a minimal cost. It will require more commitment
than level 1 but will also provide a rich interaction and learning environment with connections and links to courses provided by Christian Leadership University.
In the first level there are 24 lessons which you can do in 40 days or longer. It is perhaps best to do this course as soon as you are able. Some lessons will have a section called “Going Deeper” which will give you some idea of what will be covered in the Second Level. Be blessed (empowered) by this series! Together we can turn this world upside down. The following Scripture is what Jesus quoted when he began his ministry.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
4. And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall raise up the former desolations,
And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
Isaiah 61:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV)
My prayer for you is that you become a tree of righteousness planted by the Lord.
